Social involvement
As well as striving at all times to be a fair and responsible employer, we are also committed to adding social value.
Involvement
As the longest-established Liechtenstein bank, we have close ties with the Principality of Liechtenstein and its people. Our donations and various sponsorship activities strengthen and underscore these ties. We sponsor cultural, social and sporting events and causes – our way of giving something back to the people of Liechtenstein.
The Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG
On 5 December 1861, the Liechtensteinische Landesbank was founded as the "Zins- und Credit-Landes-Anstalt im souverainen Fürstenthume Liechtenstein" (National Interest and Credit Institution in the Sovereign Principality of Liechtenstein).
On the occasion of its 150th anniversary in 2011, which was celebrated under the motto "150 Years of Looking Forward", the LLB established the "Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG". The purpose of this foundation is to provide targeted funding for social and environmental projects with a visionary impact.
Funding in the social sphere is awarded especially to projects that provide a sustainable improvement to the living and working conditions of people and that strengthen their individual responsibility. In the environmental sphere, special importance is attached to environmental sustainability. The Future Foundation is primarily active in Liechtenstein and Eastern Switzerland.
The Future Foundation is a member of the Association of Liechtenstein Charitable Foundations (VLGS), which aims to promote the vision of entrepreneurial philanthropy.
Funding opportunities for individuals and organisations
The Future Foundation supports solely activities and projects which generate a significant impact in the social and environmental fields. In doing so, it focuses on persons and organisations which serve as role models and whose activities on behalf of the community are effective and successful.
Grants to organisations and institutions
The Future Foundation awards grants if the activity has a positive impact on the community. Long-term, recurring funding may also be provided for the support of a stable and diverse range of public-benefit organisations and institutions. The grants are not earmarked for a specific purpose, but rather serve as part of the organisation's or institution's basic funding. Grants are primarily awarded to private or cooperative organisations – public institutions are not eligible to receive grants.
Funding for social and environmental projects
The Future Foundation funds projects by individuals and organisations with a sustainable impact on society and the environment. Projects must meet a demonstrated need and show potential. Funding is earmarked for a specific goal or purpose, is limited in time, and may not lead to any dependencies going beyond the duration of the project. Special consideration is given to social and environmental projects with focuses such as dissemination of knowledge, capacity building, integration, and social entrepreneurship.
Applications
External parties may apply to the Future Foundation for grants and project funding. Applications must be submitted to the Office of the Future Foundation and be fully compatible with the purpose of the foundation. The applications must contain all the information set out in the Guide for Applications to the Future Foundation.
After the application has been received and a preliminary appraisal has been made by the Office of the Future Foundation, the Foundation Board as a rule reaches a decision on the application within six months. No general right to funding exists. The decisions of the Foundation Board are final and may be tied to specific conditions.
