LLB Future Foundation launches Future Prize for Sustainability

Vaduz, 17 December 2021. With its grants in 2021, the Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank (LLB) is once again supporting 24 institutions that work in the social field in Liechtenstein. On the occasion of this year's 10th anniversary of the Future Foundation, the Foundation Board has also decided to award a new Future Prize every two years for an outstanding commitment to sustainability.

10 years of the Future Foundation: 24 institutions receive grants

The LLB has been awarding grants for more than 40 years. Since 2011, these contributions have been awarded through the LLB Future Foundation, which was established on the occasion of the LLB's 150th anniversary. The Foundation Board is using the 10th anniversary of the Future Foundation as an opportunity to launch the Future Prize. The Future Prize will be endowed with a considerable sum and awarded every two years – alternating with the LLB SME Award – to an outstanding commitment to sustainability.

"By awarding the Future Prize of the LLB Future Foundation, we would like to honour special achievements in the field of sustainability which make a significant contribution to the value-oriented and future-oriented development of society," says Gabriel Brenna, Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Future Foundation and Group CEO of the LLB Group. The Future Prize also underscores the strategic orientation of the LLB Group, which – with its ACT-26 corporate strategy – is focusing comprehensively on sustainability and aims to play a pioneering role.

An expression of thanks for social commitment

The 10th anniversary of the LLB Future Foundation, the launch of the Future Prize, and this year's awards should have been celebrated at the traditional pre-Christmas awards event. As was the case last year, however, the event had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. In his letter to the recipient organisations, Gabriel Brenna, Chairman of the Foundation Board, expresses his thanks that "the social organisations in Liechtenstein demonstrate such important commitment and support, and that they are here for the people in the country with perseverance and great dedication, even during the current difficult situation."

Commitment to society and the environment

The total amount of grants awarded by the Future Foundation in 2021 will be about CHF 85'000. The Future Foundation not only makes grants to social organisations, but additionally promotes goal-oriented and future-oriented social and environmental projects. In 2021, a further 5 initiatives received support in this way with a total of about CHF 60'000. Over the past 10 years, the Future Foundation has awarded more than 210 grants and made more than 60 contributions to project funding in the amount of approximately CHF 1.5 million.
